IACH North America 3-Year Classical Homeopathy Practitioner Program

Our 3-Year Practitioner Program is a comprehensive course in classical homeopathy, taught according to the principles of Samuel Hahnemann and the method of Professor George Vithoulkas. It builds on the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy’s 2-year E-Learning Program, which several medical universities have adopted as a postgraduate course (see recognition).

Classes run live on Zoom. You watch Professor Vithoulkas’s lectures and observe his patient intake and prescribing as if you were in his classroom. North American instructors lead the live classes, clinics and discussion, and you see and talk with your instructors and classmates in every session.

Clinical training

Clinical work runs through all three years:

• Observation of Professor Vithoulkas’s cases. Live and paper cases with in-depth analysis, follow-ups and prescribing strategy, where you take part in the analysis.
• Clinical observation modules built on Professor Vithoulkas’s cases.
• IACH Student Internship Clinic for 2nd- and 3rd-year students, held online.
• Independent case-taking with supervision. You take and write up 10 chronic cases, each with two follow-ups, supervised by a CCH-certified or BHMS supervisor.

Together these give at least 500 clinical hours: up to 360 hours of observation and analysis, plus at least 140 hours of supervised independent casework.

CHC board certification

IACH graduates are currently eligible to sit the exam of the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC). You apply as a graduate of a program outside the USA or Canada, because IACH is an international school. Before the exam, you send your transcript to the CHC PQE committee, which confirms you meet the requirement of 500 foundation hours and 500 clinical hours. See CHC eligibility and how to apply.

Licensing in Arizona

Arizona introduced licensing for homeopathic practitioners in fall 2024. IACH graduates living anywhere in the US can apply. You’ll need your transcript and diploma, and either a pass in the CHC exam or a pass in the written exam of the Arizona Board of Homeopathic and Integrated Medicine Examiners. Practising homeopathy in the US

How you can practise depends on your education, where you studied, and the laws of the state you live in. A certification is not a licence to practise. Each state regulates homeopathy and other complementary disciplines differently, so we recommend contacting your state Attorney General’s office. The IACH Diploma certifies your knowledge; it does not automatically give you the right to practise. IACH also shows students how to register with NASH.

Why IACH

Professor Vithoulkas received the Right Livelihood Award (the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’) in 1996 “for his outstanding contribution to the revival of homeopathic knowledge and the training of homeopaths to the highest standards.” IACH’s research team publishes cured cases in peer-reviewed medical journals (clinical cases) and presents at international medical congresses (congresses).
